After an eternal winter of closed hospitality, the light at the end of the tunnel seems in sight. As the weather brightens up towards Spring, there's the hope that if all goes according to the government's roadmap plan that outdoor hospitality will be able to open up from the 12th April. From burgers and pizzas to afternoon tea and sweet treats, here are some restaurants across the North East with outdoor seating areas that I can't wait to visit.
Afternoon tea is the perfect treat for celebrating a special occasion, date night or just because it's the weekend! Although we're still unable to visit restaurants and cafes to enjoy an afternoon tea, there's nothing stopping us from tucking into one at home or taking a box full of delicious delights on a picnic!

Bao Bar is tiny - a blink-and-you'll-miss-it kind of place. It's found on Chillingham Road in Heaton (just outside of Newcastle) and is a small, walk-in bar offering steamed buns, small plates and pared drinks.
Thali Tray is an Indian street food eatery found at Arch2 Brewpub & Kitchen in Ouseburn (just up the hill from Ouseburn Farm/ The Ship Inn). I've visited at least three times, and it's always been great. There you go, review done. Just kidding...
