NB: This blog post was written during the lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic. You will find that most restaurants featured have now suspended their ‘At Home’ meal kits as they are allowed to open once again.
Local lockdown continues in the North East of England this week with new restrictions implemented so that “mixing between households in any indoor setting, such as pubs and restaurants, is against the law.”
I don’t know about you, but for my household that means unless one of us wants to go out for dinner by ourselves that we are really limited to dining out in restaurants at the minute, as we have a little one and no babysitter option! And, isn’t the joy of eating out part of the socialising as well as the eating?
However, despite the new local restrictions in the North East, there are still many, many ways that we can keep supporting our local hospitality industry during this difficult time for them.
One way is by bringing the restaurant experience home to you with restaurant meal kits where the chefs have done most of the cooking, and we finish it off with some cooking and plating up at home, following their step-by-step instructions.
It means that we can treat ourselves to an indulgent, multi-course, restaurant-standard meal at home from some of the best restaurants in the area!
Take a look at some of these fantastic restaurant meal kits from some of my favourite restaurants.
