We've eaten well today. This open lasagne of chorizo and pork belly, tenderstem broccoli and parmesan cream at @theforgefood was rich and decadent... and part of its January deal of two courses for £12! Considering this dish would normally cost £12 on its own, it's such a bargain! The Forge is one of my new favourite restaurants and I love that it's just on my doorstep. This isn't just any mac n cheese - this is mac n cheese at @kilnouseburn made from Northumbrian cheese, topped with panko bread crumbs and drizzled with truffle oil. It was just perfect for a cold, rainy day like today. Look at the size of this chocolate chip scone from @gbcupcakery - served as part of their afternoon tea. It polished me off! As many of you will know, January can be a really slow month for lots of businesses in the food and drink industry as everyone has already indulged, feasted and spent all their cash in December during the festive season. However, if you’ve got any pennies left and are wanting to enjoy a meal out (albeit it on a budget), there are lots of fabulous foodie deals to be had this month in the North East. The popular Newcastle Restaurant Week is back, and many restaurants are offering 50% off their menus for January diners.
