Afternoon tea is the perfect treat for celebrating a special occasion, date night or just because it's the weekend! Bao Bar is tiny - a blink-and-you'll-miss-it kind of place. It's found on Chillingham Road in Heaton (just outside of Newcastle) and is a small, walk-in bar offering steamed buns, small plates and pared drinks.
The setting of Love Lily Tearoom is so enviable. The floor-to-ceiling windows look out over Roker Beach in Sunderland and there's something just so delightful in settling down here for breakfast, brunch or lunch after a walk full of sea air.
Thali Tray is an Indian street food eatery found at Arch2 Brewpub & Kitchen in Ouseburn (just up the hill from Ouseburn Farm/ The Ship Inn). I've visited at least three times, and it's always been great. There you go, review done. Just kidding...
