Local Afternoon Tea Delivery in the North East

Afternoon tea is the perfect treat for celebrating a special occasion, date night or just because it’s the weekend! Although this list may not be as long as it once was (during the Covid pandemic years), there are still a good selection of places across the North East where you can collect an afternoon tea to enjoy at home, or have it delivered locally.

If you’re after a sumptuous afternoon tea of finger sandwiches, fluffy scones and amazing sweet treats, then look no further. I’ve rounded up some amazing venues and businesses in the North East area that are offering afternoon tea deliveries or collection.

They range from luxurious to hearty, with some serving up their own twists on a classic afternoon tea, as well as gentleman’s tea, cream tea and children’s options too.

Northumberland

Running Fox Cafe

North Tyneside

Click and collect available from The Champagne Bar in Spanish City from Wednesday to Sunday between 12pm and 4pm.. You must order at least 24 hours in advance.

Newcastle & Gateshead

The French Oven, Newcastle City Centre

Available to collect six days a week, this delightful bakery in the Grainger Market in Newcastle City centre does fantastic value afternoon teas for collection from £12.50 per person, so you can celebrate birthdays at home, retirements at work and all sorts of events.

Jesmond Dene House, Jesmond
Takeout Afternoon Tea is available Wednesday – Sunday, with collection slots available between 1pm – 4pm.
This luxurious hotel and fine-dining restaurant now offers takeout afternoon teas for you to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. Each box is beautifully presented and tied with a ribbon, and features a delectable range of scones, sandwiches, savouries and sweet treats!

South Tyneside & Sunderland
