Following on from the success of the first ever Great North Gluten-Free Fair in 2013, the event is returning to CastleGate, in Newcastle city centre, for a second year on 26th April.
Organised by TASTECLUB, which supports the people who make, serve and sell Great North food and drink, the event proves that gluten-free needn’t mean taste-free, with a variety of delicious gluten-free food and drink on offer from some of the best local and national producers. Jane Hogan, TASTECLUB’s Chief Executive, said: “We were delighted that the first Great North Gluten-Free Fair was so successful. More than 1,000 visitors came along to sample and buy gluten-free food and drink, and we received very positive feedback from visitors and traders alike.”
This year promises to be bigger and better than last year with over 40 producers, a gluten-free café on-site, support from Coeliac UK, the leading charity working for people with coeliac disease, and Newburn Bakehouse by Warburtons returning as event sponsor to showcase their award-winning range of free-from products.
TASTECLUB have worked hard to not only provide gluten-free food, but gluten-free food that is delicious. If you have coeliac disease or a gluten intolerance, then you may have many horror stories of trying products with the taste and texture of cardboard. At the Great North Gluten-Free Fair you will be amazed at how delicious eating and living a gluten-free life can be!
