Northumberland Restaurant Week (18/03/2013 – 24/03/2013)

Venture to Northumberland next week to join in their first ever Northumberland Restaurant Week, and enjoy super savings on some lovely restaurants! There are over 40 restaurants participating in the event, with more and more getting involved, and I’m sure it’s going to be a huge success! If you can’t decide where you’d like to go, here are our top five places we’d love to visit! Who knows, we might even see you there!

1. No19 at The Close House Hotel.
This elegant hotel has a lovely offer for their No19 restaurant, which boasts a contemporary and modern setting while still feeling relaxed, homely and comfortable. It’s a gorgeous place to come and dine, with a menu boasting local ingredients and produce.
£12.50 for 2 courses/ £15 for 3 courses.
Check out their website/ twitter/ facebook.

2. Bistro 62
I’d never heard of Bistro 62 until I looked on the Northumberland Restaurant Week website, but it looks like a great place to eat and I’m glad I’ve discovered it! With good hearty main courses and mouthwatering desserts (Chocolate and Salt Caramel Creme Brulee anyone!?) you will dine well here!
£11.95 for 2 courses/ £14.95 for 3 courses + glass of wine/ £15.95 for a 3 course Sunday lunch + 1/2 bottle of wine.

3. Cheese Loft Cafe at Northumberland Cheese Company
A quintessential tea room sits above the Northumberland Cheese Company’s working dairy, where they have been making cheese since 1984. Come to their lovely tearoom to have delicious home-made scones, lunches and afternoon teas.
Get a bowl of soup, half a round of sandwiches, any regular hot drink and a scone with butter for £8.
Check out their website/ twitter/ facebook.

4. Carlo’s Fish & Chips
Nothing beats a good fish & chips! Everytime we come to Alnwick to see family, we always end up getting fish & chips from Carlo’s. So, we highly recommend this place!
2 fish & chips meals for £10.
Check out their website.

5. The Black Olive Cafe
This would be a quaint place to stop for lunch while exploring the market at Alnwick and Alnwick Castle! Voted No.1  in Alnwick, you shouldn’t miss it!
Any cake/dessert for free when you purchase a main course.
Check out their website.

It was pretty difficult trying to choose just 5 restaurants to list on our page for Northumberland Restaurant Week as they all look delicious, but we hope you have a lovely dining experience wherever you end up next week! Book your place now to avoid disappointment!
