Monsieur Crêpe Cafe, High Heaton
I love this café, and it is actually one of my daughter’s favourite places to eat! They specialise in authentic French crêpes but also do American pancake stacks too. Sweet and savoury pancake options are both equally delicious and they do gluten and dairy-free options too! I’ve eaten here so many times, and every time has always been spot on!
Miss Elephant, Chester-le-Street
We love Miss Elephant in Chester-le-Street. It serves sweet and savoury pancakes, as well as sweet waffles, and toppings are generous and the service is friendly and quick. Anything covered in Nutella is a good shout. You can also choose to have your pancakes/waffles served with ice cream!
Aidan’s Kitchen, Sandyford, Newcastle
This venue in Sandyford is known for its incredible American pancake stacks.

The go-to place to get your pancake fix in Sunderland. With two insta-worthy venues, these gorgeous tearooms serve up incredible pancakes from their main menu, as well as a special pancake menu just for Pancake Day!
The Dispensary, Newcastle City Centre
If you need a city-centre pancake fix, look no further than The Dispensary. Their pancakes are so popular and for Pancake Day they will be serving only pancakes all day, with a limited-edition menu alongside their regular menu.
YOLO Coffee & Kitchen, Seaburn
Housed within the shipping container village STACK in Seaburn, feast on indulgent pancakes and waffles from YOLO before a sunny stroll by the seaside. I can highly recommend the strawberry and nutella pancake! 
Minchella & Co, Ocean Road and Sea Road venues, South Shields
Minchella has released a limited-edition menu of luxury pancake stacks, following on from their success in previous years. From the caramel shortcake pancake stack to the peach and passionfruit pancake stack, there are some delicious options available!
Flat White, Durham
I want to head to the beloved Flat White in Durham city centre to finally get my hands on their famous ricotta pancakes! The cafe always has a queue out of the door, so best to visit not at peak times!
